Preliminary task.

For our preliminary task, our group have decided to create a short film called " Mummies and Cowboys". The short film will inclde these different shots; The 180 degree rule, shot reverse shot and a match on action shot. In our film, we are also going to film a  person walking through a door, sitting down at a table and exchanging dialogue with another person.

We are planning to film an opening with two main characters. the two main characters will be a Mummy and a Cowboy, hence the name of our film "Mummies and Cowboys". The film is based on a fancy dress party. We are going to start our filming by shooting scenes of the Cowboy on his own, in a room, having a party by itself. This clip of the film will be a establishing shot/ mid shot as we are planning to film the Cowboy and to show the setting where the cowboy is. We will then film a phone receiving a text message, this is when the cowboy will notice the phone vibrating and ringing. we will then do close up of the cowboys face, this is done to show the reaction for the cowboy when it notices the phone is vibrating. This will be filmed as a tracking and over the shoulder shot. The tracking shot will follow the cowboy walking towards the phone and the over the shoulder shot will show the cowboys looking at the phone whilst sitting down at a table. We will then film a scene where the mummy is walking down a passageway to open the door. We will do a tracking shot of the Mummy's feet walking in the passage way. We will then film a quick over the shoulder shot showing the Mummy holding onto the door handle  to show that the Mummy is going to open the door. The next scene we will film would be showing the door opening from in the room that the Cowboy is in. This would be shot in a close up in order to show the Mummy opening the door from the other side. We would then do a two shot to show the Mummy and cowboy are in the same room together. The Mummy will then sit down on opposite the Cowboy and this is when we will use the 180 degree rule. We will then do a close up of the Cowboy's face in order to see the reaction on its face when the Mummy is present in the room. Then we would do a close up of the Mummie's face to see how it reacts to having the cowboy in the same room. We would then do a another close up shot of the Cowboys face - this would mean that we will do a shot reverse shot. After the shot reverse shot, we are going to do a high angle shot to show the two main characters staring at eachother across the table and also to show that the cowboy getting a gun out from its pocket. An extreme close uo shot would be used to show the Cowboy pointing the gun at the Mummies face. The cowboy will then shoot the Mummy and a low angle shot will be used to show that the Mummy passed out on its chair. We will then do a close up of the Cowboy celebrating as it killed the Mummy. The camera will then lower down to the shoulders of the Cowboy to show the Mummy's hand placed on the cowboys shoulder. Another shot will be filmed to show the Mummy speaking to the Cowboy. Finally we will film the mummy in a mid shot to show that the Mummy leaving the room.
